Horse judging members will learn to evaluate horses through their conformation and performance.  Evaluation of performance classes such as western pleasure, showmanship, reining, western riding, hunter under saddle, western horsemanship.  Members will be taught how to give oral reasons as to why they placed a class in a particular way.  Oral reasons help the 4-H member improve memory skill and to speak positively. Through horse judging the member can become a better exhibitor at shows because they learn the current show standards and criteria judges use to evaluate each class.  This will consist of both classroom and hands on teaching sessions.

Horse judging members will have the opportunity to attend some training sessions; UF Horse Judging Day Camp and 4H/FFA Horse Judging in Tampa Florida at the State Fair Grounds.

We encourage anyone interested in learning something new, want to improve speaking skills, and what to look for when buying a horse, etc. to give this club a try. Age requirements: 

8-18 years old 

First meeting date:  Third Wednesday of every month.
