Taylor County Agriculture
Taylor County Extension focuses on agriculture issues of both commercial farmers and private homeowners.
Commercial agricultural programs center around timber management and beef cattle production, along with various small farm production and marketing issues.
Homeowner agricultural programs are quite varied and deal with educational programs related to turf grass, warm and cool season vegetables, annual and perennial landscape ornamentals, field-grown cut flowers, fruits, soil assessment & capability, aquaculture opportunities for farm ponds, outdoor Shiitake mushroom cultivation, goat and other "exotic" livestock production and care, small flock poultry, safe use & handling of pesticides insect and weed identification, and disaster preparedness.
